Overview
Lode is a personal finance app that prioritizes your privacy. Your financial data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
Data Storage
All your financial data — transactions, accounts, budgets, bills, goals, and debts — is stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. We do not store your personal or financial information on our servers.
AI Features
Lode uses AI to help with data entry and insights. When you use the AI chat or receipt scanning, your text input or receipt image is sent to our secure proxy server, which forwards it to a third-party AI service (Google Gemini) for processing. When you ask questions about your finances, aggregated summaries (such as account balances, spending by category, and goal progress) may also be included to provide accurate answers. The proxy server does not store any data. On supported devices, some AI features may use Apple's on-device processing as a fallback.
Exchange Rates
Lode fetches currency exchange rates through our secure proxy server to display up-to-date conversion information. These requests do not include any of your personal or financial data.
Subscriptions
Lode offers optional premium features via in-app subscriptions. Subscription transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information.
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit: personal identification information, financial account details, advertising identifiers, or location data. When using AI features, limited financial context (such as spending summaries) may be sent to process your request but is never stored.
Third-Party Services
Lode does not include advertising SDKs, analytics frameworks, or tracking tools. AI features are processed through our secure Cloudflare Worker proxy, which forwards requests to Google Gemini API. Exchange rates are fetched from public financial data APIs. No personal data is shared with any third party.
Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device and in your iCloud account, you can delete it at any time by removing the app. iCloud data can be managed through your device's iCloud settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated date at the top of this page.
